Main idea: The biggest gains come from redesigning the agent, codebase, and development process together. Give agents enough access to build, test, ship, and observe the result, then review their evidence on your own schedule.
- Software’s economics have changed. Ball argues that cheaper implementation, debugging, and iteration should change decisions about prototypes, build versus buy, feature flags, and tooling. Plan for continued model improvement and falling costs.
- Describe the outcome. His examples include doubling an interpreter’s speed, building a browser router from references, and adding compact workspace chat. Specify the goal and constraints; let the agent discover the implementation. See Amp’s prompting guide
