Compiled: 2026-09-02. All PyPI/npm packages and raw APIs below were verified live against their registries/endpoints during compilation. Skills were discovered via the skills.sh registry (npx skills find). GitHub stars are snapshot values.

Scope: tools to search, look up, and download academic papers across all domains where the free tier requires no API key, no login, no premium subscription. Items where a key is optional (key-less still works) are marked 🔑-optional.

List of coding agent sandboxes 2026-05

Coding Agent Sandboxes — Comprehensive List

Compiled from awesome-lists (restyler/awesome-sandbox, webcoyote/awesome-AI-sandbox, bureado/awesome-agent-runtime-security) and a survey of vendor blogs / field guides published through 2026. Grouped by isolation primitive and then by deployment model.

1. OS-level primitives (no container, no VM)

These rely on kernel/userland features to constrain a normal host process. Lowest overhead, weakest boundary.

  • macOS Seatbelt / sandbox-exec — Apple's TrustedBSD-based MAC framework. Used directly by Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, and underneath Anthropic's srt.
  • Linux Landlock — Unprivileged filesystem/network LSM; default backend for Codex CLI on Linux.

Get rid of the immersive menu in Win10 1809 and above
  1. Download tools: ResourceHacker and mssstyleEditor, then unpack them
  2. Download resources: Win8 theme for Win10, and then uppack it, we will need 'Windows 8 RP Themes for Windows 10\Theme\Themes For 10 Build 14393 Anniversary Update\Windows 8 RP\aero 8 RP.msstyle'.
  3. Open it with ResourceHacker, export IMAGE 1055:0 and IMERSIVE 1:0.
  4. Make a backup of the original aerolite.msstyles and make a copy of it to your working folder (arbitary)
  5. Open it with ResourceHacker, Go to 'Action -> Add an Image or Other Binary Resource' or hit Ctrl+M to open the "Add Binary Resource" Dialog. Choose the menu image resource file that is going to be used, then change the "Resource Type" to IMAGE and resource name to be what ever available, in my case, 993.
  6. Change the value of IMERSIVE 1:0, by importing the data from "aero 8 RP.msstyle"

Steam Depot Data: How SteamDB Gets It and How We Can Replicate It (deep dive for proton-pulse-web)

Steam Depot Data: How SteamDB Gets It and How We Can Replicate It

Deep dive into Steam's depot system, how SteamDB tracks depot creation/update dates, and practical approaches for proton-pulse-web to replicate this functionality.

The Core Problem

Steam's official public Web API (partner.steamgames.com/doc/webapi) does not expose per-depot timestamps, manifest history, or OS-specific update dates. The store/api/appdetails endpoint returns app-level release dates but nothing about individual depots. We need this data to show users when a game's Linux depot was first added and when it was last updated.

How Steam's Depot System Works
